The Problem
The customer got in touch with us here at Evesham Trade Centre [GM Roofing] to replace a poorly installed and worn out, aged EPDM rubber flat roof on a school’s gym roof in Stratford Upon Avon. They got in touch with us, as they are a repeat customer of ours who we have completed many successful jobs for in the past, to replace the old EPDM rubber roof with a brand new one during the summer holidays ready for the new school year with a new gym roof! Our head of surveying & director Glen went out to visit the site to assess the situation and produce a quote.
The Solution
One of our roofing teams, headed up by one of our lead fitters, Ady got to work on ripping out the old EPDM rubber roofing and replacing it with a brand new EPDM rubber roof and guttering. The job went well with the job being completed on schedule.
The solution involved the following steps:
- Survey & Quotation: Glen our director & head of surveying attended the property and assessed the gym’s roof and determined what works need to be conducted and discussed the best options and materials for the job.
- Material Decision: The customer requested an EPDM rubber roof, therefore the choices were limited to the materials that the customer had chosen.
- Innovative Engineering: There were a few obstacles to overcome, with the scaffolding around the roof it was tricky for our fitting team to secure around the edge of the roof due to some scaffolding in the way, however the fitting team overcame the obstacle to complete the job to a high quality of standard.
- Seamless Integration: Making sure that the EPDM rubber roofing and the pieces that secure the roof onto the building look seamlessly blended into the building as a whole was a high priority and the fitting team made sure that the seamless blend was perfect and what the customer was expecting upon completion of the installation.
The Benefit
The customer was delighted with the final installation and a quality check was completed to tell us that the work was finished to our usual high standards of quality and workmanship. The school, all their staff and pupils now enjoy the benefits of their newly renovated school gym.
